Daniel King has been a police officer with a large Las Vegas-area agency since 1998. He has worked as a Patrol Officer, K9 Handler (Patrol and Narcotics), SWAT Officer, Acting Sergeant, Street Crimes Detective and Training Officer.
Since 2012, Dan has been responsible for conducting administrative investigations into officer-involved shootings, use-of-force incidents, and critical incidents. The reviews are focused on facts, law, tactics, policies, training and lessons learned from the incident. The findings are used to make changes in the department and training.
Daniel is a Use of Force, Instructor Development, Excited Delirium, and Master Taser Instructor. He is also a firearms trainer for his department. Daniel is a Force Science Analyst and Certified Litigation Specialist in Police Use of Force.
In 2000, he was voted the state of Nevada VFW Officer of the Year. In 2014, Dan was voted his agency’s Specialized Unit Officer of the Year. He has twice been awarded the department Medal of Valor. Prior to law enforcement, Dan served as a Flight Medic in the United States Army for five years.
