Chief Scott Hughes began his law enforcement career at the age of 16 when he joined a law enforcement explorer program. Scott remained active in the program until the age of 21 when he entered the police academy. He is currently the Chief of Police in Hamilton Township (Warren County) Ohio Police Department.

Chief Hughes has held the position of academy commander and advanced law enforcement training coordinator at a regional training facility where he continues to serve as a certified instructor through the Ohio Peace Officer’s Training Commission. Scott has been recognized as a subject matter expert by the Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission in several disciplines.

Chief Hughes studied Organizational Leadership at University of Charleston and is a graduate of The Supervisor Training and Education program as well as The Police Executive Leadership College, both affiliated with the Ohio Association of Chiefs of Police. Scott is also a graduate of 133rd FBI-LEEDA Command Institute.

Scott is a contributing writer and Instructor for Calibre Press.  He is the creator and lead instructor of the course TNT: Tactics in Traffic. He also instructs the Street Survival Seminar, The Ultimate Training Officer and Read – Recognize – Respond programs with Calibre Press.
