Officers allegedly fatally shot man with his own weapon

The officer involved shooting happened in February in Roy, Utah. According to police, two of their officers were called to the scene on reports of a trespassing.

According to a press statement, police says the officers arrived to the location and became involved in a struggle with 38-year-old Nicolas Sanchez. Police says during this struggle, Sanchez pulled a gun and officers shot  him in self-defense. No officers were harmed.

According to police, Sanchez has an long criminal history in Utah and California and he had just ended federal probation.

The Weber County Sheriff’s Department and Weber County Attorney’s Office are handling the investigation into the shooting.
