BODYCAM: Man Shoots at Officers Before SuicideBy Calibre Press | Nov 20, 2015
Police say the officers encountered a suicidal person in Normandy, Mo., near Ferguson. The man fired shots at the police and then ran.
Officers momentarily lost track of the teen during the chase and then heard one additional gunshot. The police found the 18-year-old man on the ground and unresponsive. A handgun was recovered at the scene.
This incident is getting special attention due to Normandy’s proximity to Ferguson, Mo., and because the video was captured by Ferguson PD bodycams (Normandy is not equipped with the devices).
The City of Ferguson released a statement on twitter saying that Ferguson Police did not shoot a suspect:
.@stlcountypd are investigating a shooting involving a resident today. Despite rumors, Ferguson PD did not shoot a suspect.
